Pinterest Photo Pins: Hands

Pinterest: Photography

I pinned this pin a few months ago just for the image of a new-born’s hand in their mum and dad’s hands and I loved the idea. Now, here is my “copy”. The photo is taken by Lady Kate Photography and was taken at mine and my hubby’s 5 year wedding anniversary photo shoot.

P.S. I in no way am trying to steal the original idea, or make a better one. I simply have pinned photo ideas that I like and then taken my own with my own family.

Pinterest Photo Pins: Me and Myself

Pinterest: Photography

I found this pin, which doesn’t seem to have a source (so I’m hoping a link to the pin works!), and I loved the idea of getting a picture of my son holding a frame of his newborn self. And to then use that image for the next year. The photo is taken by Picture This, and I loved how these two came out!1 Year On Me and MyselfI mean, sure he coulda looked happier in the second, but the first image is just perfect to me! I have no idea which photo I’ll put in the frame from next year!

Pinterest Photo: 5 Years Later

Pinterest: Photography

I pinned this pin a few months ago for the family picture aspect. I can’t seem to link to the pin (it says it might lead to spam), so I have found the photographer via facebook. And here is the album, the image I pinned and loved is the family all standing up and holding the chalkboard, but it is of a family holding a chalkboard stating “10 Years Later” and shows a couple with their three children. I found this lovely image a little before my 5th Wedding anniversary so I got my local professional photographer (Kate) to incorporate some of the ideas into a special photo shoot.

My plan is to do this in another 5 years, and then every five years, as a location shoot. But I might add in an additional one next year when Baby 2 (Robin) will be here. Just so they’re not left out!

Here’s one image, the rest can be found on a blog post I wrote for my other blog.

Snow Day!

So, it’s been a while since I posted. I’ve been busy moving and essentially avoiding doing much of anything. I think I definitely needed the time away from blogging.

But, with the hope that I will start blogging again – plus my Mac is fixed – I will attempt to start this slightly late New Year’s Resolution by posting pics of the snow. It does seem to actually have stopped snowing at the moment, but we get it so rarely down here it’s a lovely novelty.

Here you go,

Enjoy

I love trees and plant life when it's been snowing. I think they look fantastic all covered like this!

The contrast of the white snow topped roof and the grey sky drew me to this.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Dormant Friendships

Buds of new flowers can remain dormant for years, or spring up from nowhere to go strong.
Spider’s webs can grow all over them, but they can fight through with nurturing.
Just like friendships.

Also posting this as part of the Weekly Photo Challenge: Growth! And using the “postaday” tag purely for the photo challenge, not because I’m doing a post a day!

Back From Holidays

So, I’m back from my holidays and thought I should drop back in on civilisation! I actually managed an entire week (almost 8 whole days) without any form of technology other than an ipod and cameras! There was even a television in the hotel room which was never even turned on. That has to be some sort of record for me.

I took a notebook but didn’t even look in it and had no creative thoughts whatsoever (take that to be good or bad). Unless you count the creative processes behind some of the photos I took. It was a good week though. Three days involved excursions – including a 13 mile walk through a Gorge – and three days simply sitting by the pool/beach. I’m planning on posting photos and blogs with regards to what I did and where we went (visited Hania, Heraklion and the Samaria Gorge), but I didn’t get chance to play with the cameras last night when I got back.

It was quite unusual because our flight landed at 1630 and we were home within two hours. We’ve never come home during daylight before and it was odd, although I hadn’t thought far enough ahead to consider the traffic/rush hour aspect! Oops. I did have the foresight to know that I wouldn’t be willing to really cook when we got in so there were some frozen pizzas ready and waiting for me in the freezer. I am already having with withdrawal to all the food I was eating. So far today I’ve had a sandwich, some pineapple and a banana; I was having a plate of crossiants and pastries followed by a plate of full English. And that was just for breakfast. Bit of a change.

I just have to say, for the soppiness out there, the beast thing about my arrival home was that the foster children were still up and I was able to have the biggest cuddles ever from them both! The younger one even tried to tell me that they were still up waiting for me and then got this really cute, shy look when we accused them of fibbing. It was a fib! But still so very cute.

The best thing I can say about the holiday (which will be explained later) is that, my husband tried to fall off a mountain and I tried to walk through a river rather than across it on a bridge!

Now, fingers crossed that this email post works, the categories and tags I attempt to use work and that I actually get my lazy finger out of my bum and post about the holiday and books I read. Oh, also cross your fingers that I actually figure out what to do with my 365 project blog which is, in two words, an Epic Fail!

Fabulous Friday: Creative Camera Settings

I discovered random image settings on my SLR over Easter and got these two images. They are at different angles, but are the same church with only a time difference of ten minutes. It makes me want to be able to paint!

I also discovered the black and white setting – check out some images on my 365 blog: Day 39: Arches To Then and Day 38: Grey Days.

Anyway, I hadn’t planned on an extra post today, but I was sorting out the 365 blog and found these two images that I loved and decided to do a Fabulous Friday Photo, because it’s been while!

Happy weekend,
