Pinterest Photo Pins: Hands

Pinterest: Photography

I pinned this pin a few months ago just for the image of a new-born’s hand in their mum and dad’s hands and I loved the idea. Now, here is my “copy”. The photo is taken by Lady Kate Photography and was taken at mine and my hubby’s 5 year wedding anniversary photo shoot.

P.S. I in no way am trying to steal the original idea, or make a better one. I simply have pinned photo ideas that I like and then taken my own with my own family.

Pinterest Photo Pins: Me and Myself

Pinterest: Photography

I found this pin, which doesn’t seem to have a source (so I’m hoping a link to the pin works!), and I loved the idea of getting a picture of my son holding a frame of his newborn self. And to then use that image for the next year. The photo is taken by Picture This, and I loved how these two came out!1 Year On Me and MyselfI mean, sure he coulda looked happier in the second, but the first image is just perfect to me! I have no idea which photo I’ll put in the frame from next year!

Pinterest Photo: 5 Years Later

Pinterest: Photography

I pinned this pin a few months ago for the family picture aspect. I can’t seem to link to the pin (it says it might lead to spam), so I have found the photographer via facebook. And here is the album, the image I pinned and loved is the family all standing up and holding the chalkboard, but it is of a family holding a chalkboard stating “10 Years Later” and shows a couple with their three children. I found this lovely image a little before my 5th Wedding anniversary so I got my local professional photographer (Kate) to incorporate some of the ideas into a special photo shoot.

My plan is to do this in another 5 years, and then every five years, as a location shoot. But I might add in an additional one next year when Baby 2 (Robin) will be here. Just so they’re not left out!

Here’s one image, the rest can be found on a blog post I wrote for my other blog.

Ten Day Challenge: One Picture

Okay the final challenge and according to the small print on the image file it has to be a picture of me. The previous Challenge Entries: Ten Secrets, Nine Loves, Eight Fears, Seven Wants, Six Places, Five Foods, Four Books, Three Films and Two Songs.

This is a poetry, photo and TTC blog and I hope that’s how it remains. No matter if I ever stop any of those three things.

Despite the number of images I’ve taken and the small proportion that have made it on to here, there aren’t really any pics of me. I think in the About Me section there might be a distance shot of me but for the culmination of my challenge, I shall reveal the truth.

Having read the Stork Diaries’ blog on those remaining in the “trenches“, this is the only time I will do this. I have managed to get out of the trench and am crossing No Man’s Land as we speak. I still worry daily that I won’t make it to the other side.

I still have regular thoughts on TTC and I still consider myself infertile.

However, other than this entry and the One Picture, this blog is about TTC not actually succeeding. There’ll be another blog for that. Maybe.

Here is me:

I have one more blog post as part of the TTC journey that resulted in the above picture, it’s about the 7 week scan.

My IUI Scans

On my first IUI journey, my blog has so far reached Cycle Day 15. The next post is CD20 and then it skips to the end of the dreaded 2WW. Before we get onto those last 2 entries, I wanted to share my IUI scans.

Whilst giving myself the injections, I had to be scanned every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday by internal ultrasound to check how many eggs were growing in each ovary. Too many eggs, and the dose would need to be cut. Too few, and the dose would be increased.

The images are from days 7 and 9 of the cycle (I seem to have lost the images from CD11 and there were no more after that). The scans also check your lining to make sure it’s thick enough for implantation, but they don’t give you images.

I remember thinking, when the nurse gave me these images, that if the IUI works these would be images of my part of them. One of these eggs measured could become my DNA half of a child. It’s an amazing thought.

CD7 One Egg CD7 One Egg CD9 One Egg CD9 One egg CD9 One Egg CD9 Two Eggs, One Measured CD9 Two Eggs One MeasuredThe first two scans are CD7, the rest CD9 and the final two scans are of the same two eggs, but different ones being measured – they need to be a certain size before they will ovulate. I guess to be technically accurate what is being measured and can be seen is the follicle, inside which is the egg. The eggs are not themselves as big as these show.

Snow Day!

So, it’s been a while since I posted. I’ve been busy moving and essentially avoiding doing much of anything. I think I definitely needed the time away from blogging.

But, with the hope that I will start blogging again – plus my Mac is fixed – I will attempt to start this slightly late New Year’s Resolution by posting pics of the snow. It does seem to actually have stopped snowing at the moment, but we get it so rarely down here it’s a lovely novelty.

Here you go,

Enjoy

I love trees and plant life when it's been snowing. I think they look fantastic all covered like this!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Dormant Friendships

Buds of new flowers can remain dormant for years, or spring up from nowhere to go strong.
Spider’s webs can grow all over them, but they can fight through with nurturing.
Just like friendships.

Also posting this as part of the Weekly Photo Challenge: Growth! And using the “postaday” tag purely for the photo challenge, not because I’m doing a post a day!
