Wishing It All Away – Poem

My pores are clogged
Blocked by the changes
And wishing how it all
Could be so different.
From the pit of the acid
To the heat emanating
Wishing how it all could
Just be so different.
It’s suffocating – the heat –
The tightness, the restraint
Oxygen is rapidly decreasing
Cooling water slips down
Along the throat and into
Acid filled churns
But it cooled and,
For now,
That is all that matters.
Until it will all pass
Wishing that, this once,
It could be different.
