Consonants

Carefully, I look closer at them,
Wishing how the past could change for now.
The five of us so very close,
Only one is still vividly constant.

Trawling through my buried memories,
Trying to recall the vaguest details.
Were they true? Is it a virtual version?
Something hurts inside, something’s torn in me.

Jealousy rips through. It’s their bond now,
Not mine, I am just alone with myself.
Jabbering in private, a valley between,
At a junction in life. Am I their void?

Never needing me, never caring,
From closest ally to arch nemesis,
With her, she takes them. No glance back.
